Johnson Swaps Kansas For Fulham

Roy Hodgson has finally bought a striker to Craven Cottage as Fulham completed the signing of USA international Eddie Johnson.

The23-year-old leaves Kansas City Wizards for a three-and-a-half-year dealwith the Barclays Premier League strugglers, after the Home Officegranted a work permit.

Johnson, a burly forward, is the latestaddition for the West London club after Danish midfielder LeonAndreasen and Norwegian defender Brede Hangeland signed earlier in theweek.

Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson explained the move on theclub's official website: "I have made no secret of the fact that Ibelieve the squad lacks a certain balance in specific areas of the teamand following the loss of Brian McBride to injury, this is true of ourstrike force.

"At 6ft 1in Eddie has the presence that willcomplement the other forwards within our squad and he has the abilityto offer us another dimension to our attacking play.

"I amdelighted that he has joined us and am grateful to the representativesfrom the Home Office for granting him the work permit which will enablehim to play for us as soon as possible."
