LIVERPOOL FC co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett may force Rafael Benitez to sell Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
The27-year-old Liverpool captain, is believed to be valued at £35m, willbe available for sale if a £350m refinancing deal can''t go through.
Sourcesclose to Tom Hicks told Liverpool local newspaper Liverpool ECHO thatHicks remains confident the long awaited refinancing deal will besigned, sealed and delivered tomorrow or even Monday, but sources fromTom Hicks'' family reveal that Tom Hicks also worry the deal will becollapsed. So he intends to sell the Liverpool captain to help him andhis partner Geroge Gillett to finance part of the deal which isexpected to help the American duo repay money borrowed for their£218.9m takeover in March 2007.
The news will surely be a hugeblow to Liverpool side and anger supporters following their treatmentof the Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez when Hicks admitted holdingtalks with Jurgen Klinsmann last November about the German taking overfrom Rafael Benitez as manager.
